Fact: The Plains Zebra (Equus quagga), is commonly found in the savannas and open forests of southwest Africa. It is also known as the Common Zebra. Unlike most wild horses, the Plains Zebra exists in large numbers. A life expectancy of 40 years is not uncommon. Because they depend upon drinking frequently, they will be found close to water.
